Ample17
A historic gem in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter
Project Ample 17
A 207 m² residence located on Calle Ample, in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. This apartment is set within a landmark building from 1893, a prime example of high-end residential architecture from the late 19th century.
Despite its immense heritage value, the property suffered from significant functional and energetic obsolescence. From the outset, our mission was to execute a comprehensive restoration to recover the home’s original grandeur while integrating contemporary standards of comfort, efficiency, and high-end living.
The project involves a complete spatial redistribution, a full upgrade of all utility systems, and a substantial boost in energy performance. Every architectural treasure within the home has been preserved and highlighted. This intervention reintroduces a large-scale, high-quality residence—a rare asset in the historic center—back into the market without altering the urban morphology or replacing the existing heritage.
This project exemplifies a model of urban regeneration based on the deep rehabilitation of historic buildings. It successfully balances the preservation of the Gothic Quarter’s unique character with the creation of long-lasting economic and urban value.
